A menstrual product fundraiser with the Utah food bank because we believe they are a necessity not a luxury!
Millions of women in the U.S suffer isolation, infection, and missed opportunities because they are unable to afford tampons and pads. Yet these women cannot use SNAP (food stamps) and Medicaid benefits to purchase menstrual products. Moreover, 30 states including Utah tax tampons as a luxury good. The consequences are heartbreaking:
- 23% of U.S. students struggle to afford period products.
- Nearly one in five American girls have missed school due to period poverty.
- In one study, two-thirds of low-income women couldn’t afford menstrual products. 36% missed work each month as a result.
At SisterGoods, we believe menstrual products are a necessity, not a luxury. We are partnering with the Utah Food Bank to offer menstrual products at their pantries.
Your donation will help us fight period poverty – and give Utah women more opportunities to learn, work, and thrive.

How you can help support and end period poverty:
Host a SisterGoods fundraiser- all funds raised will be tax deductible and go directly to the food bank. These donations will reach girls and women in over 200 pantries and schools.
Throw a “giving party”– Pack 10 pads and 10 tampons in brown paper lunch bags with a handwritten note. Drop them off to your local school, refugee organization, Boys and Girls Clubs, or women’s shelter.
Host a SisterGoods Drive– Collect boxes and packages of pads and tampons. Drop them off at the Utah Food Bank. Make it fun with prizes or a competition! This often overlooked item is essential for all women and girls in our state and is rarely if ever collected.
