True story. I went to the store to buy stuff for dinner (do they really all need to eat EVERY night?). I came out with ingredients for an Egg Nog Shake. Drove home and only then realized I had nothing for dinner. Scarlett won’t share with me so it’s really that good. Egg Nog Vanilla Ice Cream Salted Carmel Talenti Ice Cream Fresh Nutmeg Blend vanilla ice cream and egg nog (not too thick). Add a scoop of Salted Carmel ice cream and grate fresh nutmeg on top. HOLIDAY TIP- Fresh Nutmeg is a must!! It’s so good on so many things and doesn’t compare to the ground stuff.

Found at Dans Supermarket! The best thing I’ve ever eaten. It’s a croissant and doughnut in one. (Not a Cronut. I’m honestly not a big fan.) It’s soft and chewy in the center and flaky with sweet icing on the outside. And heated up, Oh. My. Gosh! This splurge is absolutely worth it. Remember make your splurges count!

My latest obsession is all things French toast. Buy your favorite loaf cake (think banana nut, carrot cake..) dip in French toast mixture (eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla) and put on a griddle. You may have to finish it off in the oven depending on how thick you cut the slices, I like them thick. For cream cheese syrup mix- pure maple syrup and warmed cream cheese.

Because it’s Friday, and I’m not cooking, and so you won’t have to scroll through my whole @kristinandrus feed of my kids to find the recipe! 1 C butter- barely softened 1/2 C white sugar 1 C brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 3 C flour 3/4 tsp salt 3/4 tsp baking soda 10 oz really good chocolate chips *I suggest doubling the recipe and adding one bag of milk chocolate, one bag of semi sweet and some butterscotch chips if you’re feeling crazy! Cream butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla together really well. Add flour, salt, baking soda to creamed mixture and blend together only until combined (don’t overbeat). Hand stir chocolate chips into dough. Put balls of dough onto baking sheet and bake at 375 for about 7 to 9 minutes. They are done when starting to get golden brown on the outside but still pretty gooey on the inside. (My secret to the gooey inside, is to refrigerate the balls of dough before they go in the oven).

Use 7-8 cooking apples… I like to use Granny Smith but I also add in some Pink Lady apples which are not quite as tart. Core and slice 8 cups of apples very thinly. You’ll start by mixing in a Tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice, and anywhere from a half cup to three quarters of a cup of sugar—depending on the sweetness of your apples. Add 2 tablespoons of flour, a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and a quarter teaspoon of freshly grated nutmeg. Mix until evenly distributed through all the Apple slices (use your hands!) Press your pie crust into a 9 inch pie plate, I just use a store-bought pie dough…it’s such a timesaver but still tastes great. My secret is a quarter cup of melted apple jelly….I brush it over the crust for added sweetness, and then I pour in all the Apple filling. For a little twist on traditional apple pie, I like to use a crumble top instead of crust…so you get the crust on the bottom but then you get an apple crisp on…
