A Lighthouse Mom

We were biking through the beautiful beach town of Sitges when I saw it.

Tall. Strong. Steady.

A lighthouse.

My senior and sophomore daughters were on each side of me as we rode through rolling hills and beach towns, and it jumped out at me like it had something to say.

This is your job. This is your role.

Be a lighthouse to these girls. These daughters. These growing young women.

Be strong and steady on beautiful blue sky days like this one and through the storms.

You are not the helicopter. Not the snowplow. Not the bulldozer.

You are the strength. The light. The hope.

You are the safe place when they are lost, distracted, and too far from home.

Reliable. Patient. Knowing.

XOXO
