Help bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Utah

Raising Utah Readers

Why reading matters now

According to the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, 50% of Utah’s 3rd graders are reading below grade level.

Third grade is a turning point: children switch from learning to read to reading to learn.

Without intervention, if a child is struggling to read in 3rd grade, they will struggle to learn throughout the rest of their life.

Why Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library?

  1. A family focused solution.

Reading regularly to a child leads to stronger family connections, resilience, and promotes positive health outcomes.

  2. Kids need to read real books!

Touching, seeing, and even chewing on books is important to a child’s brain development. This program encourages us to put the screens down and connect with children face to face.

  3. Setting up children for success from the start.

Children who participate in Imagination Library have stronger language and reading skills, are more ready for kindergarten, and develop a love of reading.

What can I do to help?

Sign our petition to bring Imagination Library to every child ages 0-5 in Utah.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library brings high-quality, and age appropriate books directly to a child’s home, starting at birth through their 5th birthday.

This petition helps us show legislators that this matters to Utahns all over our state.
