Full Circle Moment with Refugees

Last week felt full circle.

We gathered 100+ volunteers to pack backpacks and dental kits for refugee students heading back to school with Utah Refugee Connection. But this story started nearly a decade ago—with one little post I saw on Instagram.

I remember thinking, why not me? So I invited friends. Hundreds of you showed up (some of you are still here ♥️). We brought pencils, binders, kids, snacks. It was a beautiful mess—we missed every number, but it didn’t matter. We gathered. We tried. And our kids saw what that looked like.

Since then, serving and loving refugee families has become part of our family culture. These students, families, and stories have shaped our lives more than I can express. And standing in that school today—where many of “my” refugee kids have graduated from—I felt it all over again.

One moment. One yes.
It changed every day of my life since.

XOXO,
ka
