Post-Thanksgiving Tips

Kristin with her parents and Jeremy in front of a turkey

Postmortem on Thanksgiving (that may be helpful for you as you embark on the big day)! The joy is definitely in the journey not the destination!

📸Have someone in charge of candid videos and pictures. They’ll be your favorite.

🎶Start blasting the Christmas music early (or your favorite playlist) to begin the day with a fun and festive vibe.

😅The gravy might be runny, the stuffing may be dry, no one will care so neither should you!

🔥Grill steak, smoke a brisket, who says you HAVE TO cook turkey!

🥔Costco mashed potatoes- we’ll never make mashed potatoes again!

💆🏼‍♀️Schedule time “away” on Friday or Saturday. Hire a sitter, schedule a nap/walk/ or massage. You will need it and will be so grateful you already have it on your calendar!

🕯️Light the fire place, burn the candles - inexpensive ambiance and feels “special”

🧠If you’re in a bad mood, take a break. It will permeate throughout the house and gathering. You create the mood and energy!

🎯Amazon has fun and cheap Thanksgiving games like bingo, Thanksgiving crackers, and so many fun activities

🎄Gingerbread house contest makes a huge mess but is so fun for kids and adults!

🥐Eat the extra roll and smother on extra butter and jam.

👩🏼‍🍳Do as much ahead as possible: sweet potatoes, stuffing onion mix, it’s never too early to prep!

🌯Breakfast burritos from your local Mexican joint and cinnamon rolls are the best Thanksgiving breakfast and last all day.

🪄Let your house get messy, that’s where the magic is!

💃🏼Don’t spend all day cleaning, enjoy your day!

🧼Use cute disposable plates and utensils, large disposable aluminum tins are your best friend and make clean up a breeze!
