The Fun (?!) of a 75 Hard Challenge
On January 3rd, our oldest daughter invited us to join her on the 75 Hard challenge.
For us, it looked like 75 days of:
• 2 workouts/movement a day (one outside)
• Drink a gallon of water (no soda)
• No fast food or fried food
• No sugar!
It sounds intense… but what surprised me most was how fun it was as a family (and how freaking long 75 days is!)
It’s a lot easier to skip dessert or fast food when you’re doing it together. There’s something powerful about a shared goal. More encouragement, less willpower.
Not everyone did it perfectly. Our youngest two didn’t join, and the rest of us adjusted here and there (I still had one DC a day). But we stayed in it together… even on trips like NYC and traveling abroad. And we still had so much fun.
Today we wrapped up (yes, some Valentine candy was involved 😄), but most of us said, “I don’t really want to go back.”
Because we feel better. And more connected.
If 75 Hard feels like too much, try your own version as a family:
• Daily walk together
• No sugar on weekdays
• 10 minutes of reading a day
• Drink more water
• One shared “hard thing” each day
Start small. Do it together. That’s where the magic is.
Being healthy is good.
Doing it together is what makes it stick.
Great job TEAM ANDRUS 👊🏻
