Don’t take it for granted
I used to think family pictures were a given. Wherever we went, it was automatic—line up the kids (or try to), snap the photo, and capture the chaos and the smiles. Sometimes everyone behaved, sometimes no one did, but everyone was always there.
I never realized how precious that was. These days, a photo with all six kids in the same space feels rare and almost sacred. As they’ve grown, life has pulled us in a million different directions, and the “all together” moments don’t just happen the way they once did.
For me, family pictures aren’t just snapshots of a moment anymore. They’re gifts. And I’ll never take them for granted again.
This is my favorite family picture from our summer and I’m not sure we’ve had one since!
