Happy Father’s Day to my husband, Jeremy Andrus
I was more impressed with Jeremy this week than I’ve ever been—and that’s saying a lot.
We had a child facing a big, heavy decision. I had been gently coaxing, talking, and nudging her for weeks, trying to help her see the best path forward. And then, one afternoon, we sat in Jeremy’s office.
In 30 minutes, I watched a masterclass in fatherhood.
With calm confidence and deep love, he looked at our daughter and said, “Giving up is not an option.” He walked her through some of the hardest failures of his life—starting at age six. Not making teams. Doors closing. Trying and trying again. Even now, working through one of the most challenging seasons in his career.
He didn’t sugarcoat the struggle. He didn’t rescue or redirect. He offered something far more powerful: perspective, grit, and truth.
He showed her what it looks like to keep going.
To fail and rise.
To do hard things because they matter.
And in that short moment, I watched our daughter soften. Shift. Believe again. She walked out of that room with new eyes—and a completely different decision than she was going to make earlier that day.
Jeremy is an incredible father. It’s his highest calling—and he treats it that way. He would rather be with our six kids than anywhere else in the world. No hobby, no business trip, no escape sounds better to him than time with them.
I always knew he’d be a great dad.
But I didn’t know just how deeply, how fiercely, how intentionally he’d show up every single day.
Happy Father’s Day, Jeremy.
We are all better because of you.
